Frame's Pest Control - Toledo's “Top Recommender” for Winter Quarter

Frame's Pest Control, a committed MTA member, was MTA Toledo's “Top Recommender” during the Winter quarter of 2004. “I love telling clients and prospective clients about Metro Trading Association,” said Eldred “Shorty” Frame recently. “I get great pleasure in watching MTA grow in Toledo. As an added bonus, we gain new customers by recommending new members and that allows us to actually hand pick our spending opportunities. This improves our bottom line because we are now able to trade for expenses we were previously spending cash for. That frees up cash for other things.”

Frame's Pest Control has provided MTA's Field Service Representative with recommendations for printers, auto repair shops, auto parts stores, restaurants, and also for advertising specialty items. “The key is to not just provide names of businesses we'd like to see join Metro Trading Association, but to actually speak to prospective members about our experience with MTA,” says Frame. “I was a member of another trade group for many years, and to me, there is no comparison. MTA is an association of quality businesses not an exchange. I am delighted to recommend MTA to my business contacts,” Frame said.

Frame's Pest Control has been in business for over 30 years and serves NW Ohio and SE Michigan with a comprehensive array of pest control services for both residential and commercial customers. Frame's trained service personnel are experienced and qualified to provide solutions to virtually all pest control problems.

Downtown Donnie Brown” joins MTA Toledo

Long time Toledo teaching golf professional Don Brown recently joined Metro Trading Association and is providing expert golf instruction to MTA members. Brown, a golf professional at several golf clubs in Toledo through the years, is widely recognized as a master of teaching techniques to beginning golfers and seasoned players as well. Brown offers lesson packages that get immediate results. “Don Brown is awesome”, remarked an MTA/Toledo member recently. “I'm hitting the ball much more squarely now and I am gaining so much more confidence in the shots I attempt. I can't wait to take a 'playing lesson,' which involves playing nine holes with Don so he can observe how I attack the golf course. Then I can make the necessary adjustments. I want to stop wasting shots.”

This new student wishes to remain anonymous in an attempt to surprise his playing partners with the sudden turnaround in his game. “

Don Brown makes golf seem so easy. The difference is amazing. I'd been struggling for so long that I was getting frustrated. Not any more,” remarked the MTA member. Call Marcy Yaffe at the MTA/Toledo office (419-842-0000) to arrange an introductory lesson with premier teaching professional Don Brown.

“Welcome Aboard” Reception held in Toledo

Newly installed Regional Trade Director, Marcy Yaffe, was hostess to a MTA reception on Wednesday, March 24th, 2004. The reception provided a perfect forum to introduce Yaffe to the founding members of Metro Trading Association/Toledo, as well as to celebrate the growth of MTA/Toledo over the past 12 months.

An evening of networking, cocktails, and heavy hors d'oeuvres was held at Madison's on Main in Sylvania. Over 100 local members and prospective members responded and the night was pure energy. “This was such an exciting evening,” said Lorraine Nicholas with Holy Toledo Directories. “MTA always goes first class,” she continued.

Beverly Freshour, owner of Fenwick Gallery of Fine Art, joined MTA on the spot. “I'm so impressed” she said. “I can't wait for the MTA Trade Show in November.” Fenwick Gallery was the guest of Holt Roofing Company, in Toledo.

Yaffe was introduced by MTA President, Michael Mercier. “We're so delighted to have Marcy with us,” announced Mercier, “this is the second step toward honoring my commitment to the founding members here to provide the very finest service the industry has to offer.” Yaffe joins the MTA/Toledo team consisting of Lindsay Smith and Field Service Representative, Charles Stalfort.

Members networked all evening. “The evening was fantastic,” remarked Todd Gerry, Director of Sales and Marketing. “The input from members was terrific and deals were being made with each other all night long.” Stalfort introduced Mercier who he described as a “very familiar face around Toledo” and as “a man with the integrity to honor his commitments” to the area. Stalfort also noted to the crowd that “you are a very special group, in that virtually every one of you in attendance was recommended by someone else here and that's what this is about…neighbors trading with their neighbors.”

Yaffe beamed all night. “I couldn't be more impressed,” she said. “This is such a wonderful group of people (founding members) and they're all working with each other to make sure everyone knows the services they offer. I've never seen such energy.”

Mercier could hardly contain his excitement. “It is always such a pleasure to spend time listening to and learning from Toledo members. Toledo is a gem….and a wonderful addition to Metro Trading Association.”

MTA's Toledo office is located at 3715 King Road in Toledo, Ohio. The office serves NW Ohio/SE Michigan and works in conjunction with MTA's main office in Troy, Michigan. The direct line to MTA/Toledo is 419-842-0000. The office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Yaffe hiring reflects growth surge

Industry front runner, Metro Trading Association, recently added recognized barter expert, Marcy Yaffe of Toledo, as its Regional Trade Director. “I can't express how happy I am to reach agreement with Marcy,” said Michael Mercier, President of MTA. “This company was built on delivering service to our members, and I can't think of any person in America more qualified to help service our rapidly expanding Toledo area membership than Marcy Yaffe. We're all thrilled with this.”

Yaffe, a lifelong Toledoan, accepted the position with enthusiasm. “Words can’t express how delighted I am to be associated with an organization with a national reputation for service to its members such as MTA enjoys. MTA has an excellent base of traders in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan who treat each other as neighbors. It's a perfect ƒit for me,” said Yaffe. “I look forward to helping members obtain and strategically spend their trade dollars in order to maximize their profits,” she continued.

Yaffe earned her BA in Liberal Arts from the University of Toledo in 1995. She has 20 years experience in the barter industry. Mercier cites unusual growth in the NW Ohio/SE Michigan market as the reason for his staff expansion. “We've added well over 100 quality members in the Toledo area just in the past 12 months and those members deserve the best service,” Mercier stated flatly. “Lindsay Smith of our Troy office has done a tremendous job brokering trades for Toledo members for over a year, but we've grown so fast that we needed someone locally in order to best service those new members. I believe no finer team could be assembled to accomplish our service goals in Toledo,” Mercier said.

Lindsay Smith will continue serving Toledo members in tandem with Yaffe and Field Service Representative, Charles Stalfort. Metro Trading Association's Toledo office opened in March. It is located at 3715 King Road in Toledo. The direct line for the Toledo office is 419-842-0000. The office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
